Vancouver, B.C. (September 23, 2009) -- Roxgold Inc. (the "Company") (TSX.V: ROG) announces that further to the Company's press release of September 9, 2009 wherein it announced the discovery of intrusive related gold mineralization grading up to 21.5 grams per tonne gold on the recently optioned Ireland Gold Property, Roxgold has staked additional claims and expanded the Company's land position along a major thrust that crops out on the eastern edge of the property. The intrusive-related gold-bearing fluids are believed to have come to surface along this major thrust.
The next phase of work on the Ireland property will include detailed mapping and sampling; an EM survey to map out the trace of the thrust, and age dating of the intrusive rocks. Historic Government mapping indicates that the nearby intrusions and the deposit may be Tertiary in age -- the same as a number of significant epithermal deposits in Nevada.
Independent consulting geologist Robert Pinsent, PhD, PGeo, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed the information contained herein.
